The finishing bug

...is still here! I'm about to leave for Chinese New Year's festivities out of town at my Grandma's, so here's a quick peek at some of the work I've been doing.

Here's DMC's Early Spring II, done on the gnarliest, nastiest lousy texture aida EVER. (Regency... so crap) but it's at 40%

And this is Mary, Queen of Scots. This Meran has a cotton/poly blend and the threads seem to have some sort of elasticity to it, but the red gradations are quite nice (at least, so I think). I love the Renaissance style letters and the wonderful intricate French style, though the coverage looks a tad spotty. Mona says the lacy looks gives it a new sense of delicacy (I can definitely live with that!) The original piece is on either ecru or white, but the yellow gives it a different sort of cast.

Ooooh, very pretty leh. I agree about the floss for Mary, the reds are so rich and the pinkish shades are tres sweet. Spring is looking good, despite the aida, I think.
